Staff Backend Software Engineer (GenAI) at Gympass in Portugal Full Time

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement generative AI applications.
• Work with large language models (LLMs) for innovation.
• Conduct research on advancements in generative AI.
• Develop and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
• Implement data retrieval mechanisms for RAG frameworks.
• Collaborate with data engineers on data pipeline integration.
• Design and develop APIs for AI models and services.
• Ensure secure, scalable, and performant API integrations.
• Ensure seamless AI integration with other software systems.
• Drive architectural design to implementation of projects.
• Plan and deliver cross-team projects.
• Provide effort and risk estimates for cross-functional projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong programming experience in Python, Go, Java, C, or C++.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL technologies (e.g., OpenSearch, DynamoDB).
• Experience with API development and integration.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work on scalable and distributed projects.
• Fast learner, adapting quickly to new technologies.
• Proven experience building minimum viable products.
• Experience in agile product development teams.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
