Summary:

• Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Senior Accountant will support the monthly closing process, including analysis, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• This position interacts daily with leaders, managers, and colleagues across various businesses and functional areas.
• The role involves interfacing with external auditors and tax advisors.
• This is a visible role within the organization with growth potential.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the accounting general close process, including preparing entries, monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and bank accounts, reviewing financial statements, and preparing analysis.
• Manage the revenue process to ensure all accounts are posted on a weekly basis.
• Reconcile Accounts Receivable and Prepaid Revenue monthly for three Division entities.
• Compile and summarize financial data for upper management and internal customers for decision-making.
• Review and enter fixed assets into Sage subledger with a monthly fixed asset roll forward.
• Coordinate and ensure accuracy and timeliness of internal and external financial reporting.
• Perform monthly variance analysis and flux.
• Review fixed asset ledgers and ensure proper capitalization and depreciation of items.
• Assist in the review of leases for potential ASC842 treatment.
• Coordinate the annual independent audit and prepare supporting schedules/forecasts for annual tax returns.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Corporate Departments such as Operations, Sales, and Human Resources.
• Assist with additional ad hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent experience; CPA/MBA is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Advanced level).
• 6 – 8 years of related experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Strong technical understanding with the ability to translate technical requirements into business concepts; ASC 842 experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of data collection, analysis, and evaluation methods.
• Ability to work with all levels of management.
• Capable of working independently, meeting project deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and working on multiple projects.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Versatile, flexible, and able to adapt to changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to the corporate office in Roswell, GA periodically as business needs dictate.
