Summary:

• CivicPlus is looking for a Data Architect to design, model, and define processes for enterprise data lake and lakehouse implementations.
• The role includes ownership of technologies and infrastructure for data management, and guidance for data engineers and analysts.
• The Data Architect will provide technical mentorship and guidance, ensuring best practices and industry standards are followed.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement enterprise-level data solutions, with a focus on data lake and lakehouse implementations.
• Own and manage technologies and infrastructure for enterprise data operations.
• Guide data engineers on best practices for building pipelines and analysts on best practices for data visualizations.
• Provide technical mentorship to the product engineering organization, steering teams to best practices and industry standards.
• Develop long-term business plans and strategies, collaborating with company and technology leaders.
• Maintain data solutions and ensure alignment with enterprise goals.
• Troubleshoot data operations issues, and design data models and optimized data processing.
• Mentor team members and ensure the availability and security of data pipelines with Site Reliability Engineers.
• Recommend improvements to tools and processes related to data operations.
• Collaborate across teams to drive continuous improvement in data operations and foster innovation.

Requirements:

• Strong background in data architecture, focusing on enterprise-level data solutions.
• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering.
• 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Good understanding of enterprise data management in a multi-product environment.
• Proven ability to design, build, and manage scalable, fault-tolerant systems for enterprise data.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD practices, and cloud-based pipeline and data store management.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills in complex data environments.
• Leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and guide team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
