Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Drafter with a strong background in US immigration law to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen ability to craft compelling narratives for submission to government agencies. A background in law is preferred, and candidates must demonstrate proficiency in legal research, drafting legal documents, and storytelling for immigration petitions.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare a variety of legal documents, including but not limited to legal briefs, motions, case law analysis, and citations.
- Develop compelling narratives that effectively tell an individual’s story for submission to government agencies, focusing on humanitarian, investment, and employment-based immigration sectors.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal teams to draft petition letters, cover letters, and support letters that align with case objectives.
- Analyze facts and case law to draft well-structured legal arguments and conclusions.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with legal standards in all drafted documents.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Utilize legal software and communication tools such as Filevine, Google Hangouts, and WhatsApp for document management and team collaboration.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a legal drafter with a focus on US immigration law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of legal writing and storytelling techniques.
- A law degree or a strong background in legal studies is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of immigration law, particularly in humanitarian, investment, and employment-based sectors.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in legal research methodologies and citation standards.
- Must provide samples of previously drafted legal documents.
- Proficiency with legal management tools such as Filevine.
- Familiarity with communication tools such as Google Hangouts and WhatsApp.
