The Billing Clerk – Remote position is offered by Med-Metrix, a company supporting hospital clients in denial management, based in Garden City, New York. Responsibilities

• Utilizing in-house software to periodically post payments.
• Printing weekly and monthly reports detailing payments made directly to our clients.
• Confirming direct payments and entering updated payment information into the database.
• Keeping track of fees associated with the appeal process.
• Navigating client hospitals’ databases to locate patients’ accounts and printing associated pay screens.
• Creating end-of-the-month reports using Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Working closely with the Finance Department to eliminate account-related discrepancies.
• Helping identify billing trends.
• Tracking billing and appeal totals.
• Data entry into hospital systems.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook with the ability to learn various in-house applications.
• Solid math skills and proficiency with numbers.
• Previous experience as a bank teller or in a related position a strong plus.
• Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
• Education: High school diploma or GED.

Benefits
