Logistics Operations Manager – South Africa Full Time

Summary:

This remote role involves leading and optimizing logistics operations, focusing on international shipments, regulatory compliance, and team management.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee daily logistics operations, ensuring seamless coordination of shipments, tracking, and customs processes.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize import and export operations while maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Manage and enhance the Transportation Management System (TMS) for efficient shipment planning and execution.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure smooth international logistics operations.
• Analyze logistics performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure timely and accurate communication with international clients, partners, and internal teams.
• Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and training to enhance operational performance.
• Oversee problem resolution for shipping delays, customs issues, and supply chain disruptions.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to maintain a competitive and compliant logistics operation.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or freight forwarding, with a focus on international operations.
• At least 2+ years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Proficiency in logistics software, Transport Management Systems, or similar.
• Must have proficiency in English and German or English and French (spoken and written).
• Strong communication skills.
