Summary:
- Utilizing hands-on experience and understanding of accounting principles, the Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting key aspects of fiscal management and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Support the month-end close process.
- Maintain accounting software, records, and files.
- Prepare/review journal entries, including revenue and expense accruals.
- Analyze complex financial reports and records.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Prepare income statement flux analysis.
- Assist in implementing accounting processes and procedures.
- Research and interpret data.
- Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team, as well as other departments.
- Assist with financial statement audit and gathering data to support annual tax return preparation.
- Continually seek ways and means for improving the delivery and support of financial activities and programs.
- Maintain professional development and growth through professional affiliations, seminars, and workshops to keep informed of healthcare trends.
- Participate as appropriate in regular education programs and activities that pertain to healthcare management, as well as specific functional areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Healthcare knowledge a plus.
- Strong technical understanding of GAAP.
- Analytical thinker and intermediate to advanced skillset in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- NetSuite or other sophisticated ERP tool experience.
- Excellent communication skills – including written, oral, presentation, and listening.
- Organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines with a proactive approach.
- Process improvement mindset.
- A high degree of positive energy and ability to rapidly develop positive relationships with others.
