Accountant Full Time

Summary:

• The Accountant role supports the Accounting Manager with month-end close tasks, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
• This position is part of the Corporate Services Department, which includes Finance, IT, Legal, and HR teams.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in month-end close by preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and reviewing account classifications per GAAP.
• Manage Fixed Asset, Royalty Receivable, and Prepaid Expense accounts.
• Collaborate with IT to test and implement new procedures between ERP and other systems.
• Monitor cash balances and perform daily and monthly cash management analysis.
• Handle Secretary of State registrations.
• Review vendor invoices, address discrepancies, and correct invoices appropriately.
• Support annual audit requirements and assist external auditors.
• Contribute to monthly sales tax duties, including supporting the return process and recording journal entries.
• Engage in the Accounting team’s efforts to enhance financial controls, policies, and systems.
• Perform other assigned tasks as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably with progressively responsible positions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with effective presentation abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Hands-on experience with ERP and accounting reporting systems; familiarity with Great Plains, Avalara, and FrX is a plus.
• Analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to continual change.
• Commitment to continuous improvement.
• Capacity to work at a desk for extended periods and work overtime as necessary.
