Towne Mortgage is hiring an experienced Accounting Leader to support the CFO and oversee a range of accounting functions. The role requires a strong financial background, leadership experience, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment. This is a remote, full-time position based in the United States.
Assist the CFO in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Oversee general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Help manage cash flow forecasting and financial performance tracking.
Prepare tax filings and coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.
Provide leadership and guidance to the Finance and Accounting team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Provide mentoring to the accounting team to develop.
Assist with financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning as directed by the CFO.
Participate in special projects or improvements to streamline accounting processes.
Advocate for the company’s culture and adhere to its core values.
Support day-to-day tasks and other functions as assigned.
Meet regular and reliable attendance requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
Prior experience in a mortgage lending environment is preferred.
5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Prior experience assisting with audits, tax filings, and financial reporting.
Majority of work is performed in a typical remote office environment.
Requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking.
May be required to lift up to 10 pounds.
Significant use of computers, phones, and general office equipment.
Needs adequate visual acuity and the ability to grasp and handle objects.
Must be able to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or by phone.
