Analytics Engineer Full Time

Summary:

Coinbase is hiring an Analytics Engineer to join the CX Analytics Engineering team. The role bridges data engineering and business analytics to transform raw data into actionable insights, enabling teams across Coinbase to make impactful, data-driven decisions with high-quality and scalable data models and tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain foundational data models as trusted sources for analytics.

  • Translate business requirements into scalable data models, dashboards, and tools.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align priorities and implement data solutions.

  • Build frameworks and workflows that maximize data user efficiency.

  • Deliver fast, maintainable solutions using modern development and analytics tools.

  • Quickly develop subject matter expertise in new business areas and data domains.

  • Work with engineering partners to deliver pipelines, fix data gaps, and enable insights.

  • Interface with stakeholders to deliver commercial value from data.

  • Develop tools such as UDFs, packages, or dashboards to support scalable workflows.

  • Stand up internal frameworks for building data apps.

  • Deliver value using both advanced tools and simpler, speed-prioritized methods.

Requirements:

  • Strong data modeling experience with modular, reusable schemas.

  • Expertise in LLM prompt design and optimization for internal tools.

  • Advanced SQL skills for transformation, querying, and optimization.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and business teams.

  • Experience with building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines using dbt, Airflow, etc.

  • Familiarity with GitHub, CI/CD, and modern development workflows.

  • Understanding of modern data warehouse/lake architectures like Snowflake or Databricks.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to solve business challenges with data.
