Application Support Engineer, SQL expert (West Coast) Full Time

Responsibilities

• Administer SQL Server Production and UAT instances
• Manage database authentication, users, permissions, and roles
• Develop and maintain views, stored procedures, and functions
• Create and manage SQL agent jobs, alerts, and SSIS Packages
• Perform indexing, statistics, and performance tuning
• Use Performance Monitor and SQL Profiler to optimize queries
• Provide 2nd level major and minor incident resolution support
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues
• Coordinate and verify client application upgrades
• Write and modify custom reports and data exports using T-SQL
• Deploy customer application patches
• Handle escalations and file feeds
• Categorize and report incidents based on impact and priority
• Meet SLAs for server uptime and resolve operational alerts
• Assist clients with SAML for single sign-on authentication
• Test file transmissions and import into applications
• Investigate application server performance issues
• Automate production service delivery
• Support software implementation projects from demo to production

Requirements

• Advanced T-SQL experience
• Advanced SQL Server 2016/2019 experience
• Experience with Microsoft IIS
• Experience with SQL Stored Procedures, Views, Functions
• Experience with multi-tier web applications on SQL Server and IIS
• Strong time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to build relationships with offshore team members
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Financial services experience beneficial
