Associate Director, Medical Expert Engagement Marketer -Central Full Time

• The Associate Director, Medical Expert Engagement Marketer (MEEM) will lead the strategy and execution of medical expert engagement within the Central region, with a focus on oncology and lung cancer.
• The role requires close collaboration across departments to support regional engagement and relationship-building with medical experts.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Director in executing the Medical Expert Engagement (ME) Strategy across the assigned region, ensuring alignment with AbbVie’s broader oncology business objectives.
• Develop, implement, and support regional medical expert engagement strategies, including advisory board meetings, congress planning, and special projects.
• Lead and co-lead the materials approval process (PRC), job code creation, and field resource deployment.
• Oversee regional speaker programs and ensure alignment with strategic goals in collaboration with the Peer-to-Peer Marketing Manager.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, medical, and external agencies, to ensure seamless execution of regional initiatives.
• Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for various engagement programs, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Coordinate and support medical expert engagements at conferences, collaborating with relevant functions to ensure a seamless experience for healthcare professionals (HCPs).
• Partner with teams to roll out national marketing resources and adapt them to meet regional needs.
• Co-lead agency partners, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and PRC submission accuracy.
• Educate Medical Experts on strategic brand priorities, fostering strong relationships that drive brand success.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• At least 5 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with at least 1 year in marketing or medical affairs.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an advanced nurse practitioner or pharmacist in oncology, with at least 1 year in sales or marketing in healthcare.
• Experience in sales leadership, TLL, or account management.
• Therapy Area: Experience in oncology, rare diseases, with a preference for Thoracic Oncology.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships, influence without authority, and lead peers inclusively.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to provide strategic recommendations.
• Ability to think strategically and execute effectively on regional engagement plans.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time, including domestic travel for office visits, field time, internal meetings, and conferences.
