Cloud Infrastructure Architect Full Time

• Derex delivers customized IT talent solutions across North America, serving industries such as Systems Integration, Banking and Finance, Telecommunications, Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences, Energy, Healthcare, Technology, Transportation, and Government agencies.
• Derex is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Architect for a 2-year contract, with a preference for consultants in EST time zone.
• The role is 100% remote.

Responsibilities:

• Help customers create and implement a vision and strategy for their digital transformation.
• Lead architectural design sessions with clients, providing regular coaching and guidance.
• Provide hands-on implementation and execution of the solution.
• Function as the Technical Delivery Subject Matter Expert, providing oversight with strong consultative skills.
• Partner with the Delivery Management team to ensure project milestones are aligned with the project plan.
• Guide business and technical decision-makers on creating business value using the Azure platform.
• Serve as the go-to technical resource in the Azure Infrastructure space, focusing on Azure Landing Zones, Datacenter Migration, Modern Management, Infrastructure as Code, Security, Governance, and Compliance.
• Help the delivery team reach billable targets by assisting with breaking through project blockers.
• Help facilitate change orders and project extensions when necessary.

Requirements:

• At least 15 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 5 years as an Architect.
• Proven experience delivering design thinking or similar context analysis/problem framing.
• Strong expertise in Azure infrastructure areas, including architecture, management, and governance.
• 4+ years of experience as an Azure Infrastructure Architect specializing in cloud operations, systems management, and migration strategies.
• Demonstrated experience migrating on-premises workloads into Azure.
• Deep technical knowledge of Azure technologies, including Log Analytics (KQL), Application Insights, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, Azure Security, Azure Networking, Azure Storage, Azure Automation (IaC), Azure Sentinel, App Services, Containers (AKS), Azure SQL, Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure DevOps, and more.
• Systems engineering experience across networking platforms, Azure IaaS and PaaS, Windows & Linux Servers, hypervisors, storage, and SaaS solutions.
• Expertise in integrating DevOps principles and practices using automation platforms, scripts, and IaC (e.g., Bicep and Terraform).
• Understanding of security, privacy, governance, and compliance requirements for migrating to the cloud and maintaining hybrid solutions.
