Summary:
EMS Management & Consultants Inc. is a leading provider of revenue cycle management solutions for emergency medical services in the U.S. The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing collection efforts, negotiating payment arrangements with patients, and ensuring outstanding accounts are resolved efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Place outbound calls to notify consumers of delinquent accounts.
- Discuss and negotiate payment arrangements with patients.
- Receive payments via telephone.
- Manage and follow up on assigned collection accounts.
- Accurately document call information and outcomes.
- Escalate calls to senior advisors or supervisors when necessary.
- Conduct all interactions professionally and in compliance with regulations.
- Participate in relevant meetings or events.
- Assist with special projects as directed.
- Perform other necessary tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to handle disgruntled callers professionally and tactfully.
- Strong resourcefulness and independence.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Preferred:
- Collection experience (helpful but not required).
- ACA certification (a plus but not required).
