Compliance Officer Full Time

Summary:

• The Compliance Officer will lead compliance duties in Brazil to ensure company operations and goals align with legal and ethical standards.
• Responsibilities include developing compliance and AML/TF programs, reviewing policies, advising management on risks, and responding to inquiries from authorities.
• The role ensures adherence to regulatory requirements from the Brazilian Central Bank and other relevant authorities.
• Reports to the Compliance Director.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage the organization’s compliance program to ensure legal and regulatory adherence.
• Prepare policies for client identification (KYC).
• Verify compliance with information and documentation requirements for authorities.
• Ensure compliance with account security and unblocking orders related to AML/TF matters.
• Define criteria and procedures for regulatory compliance.
• Develop and review company policies.
• Coordinate with regulators during audits and fulfill requirements.
• Plan, implement, and oversee risk-related programs.
• Conduct regular audits to identify weaknesses or risks.
• Establish reporting channels for compliance issues.
• Develop compliance communications and employee training schedules.
• Create and manage action plans following audit findings.
• Resolve employee compliance concerns.
• Determine and track compliance metrics.
• Review and approve new financial products to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Stay updated on laws affecting the organization, informing teams and updating policies accordingly.
• Perform compliance audits to assess adherence to protocols and suggest improvements.
• Maintain written documentation and policies on business activities.
• Address compliance staff queries.
• Analyze digital asset transfers for compliance and AML/CTF perspectives.
• Monitor customer transaction activities.
• Coordinate follow-up activities and institutional investigations.
• Verify documentation and analysis of alerts and investigations.
• Participate in reviews of key clients and projects.
• Inform the Committee about high-risk transactions or activities.
• Support AML report creation and submission.
• Prepare and submit required regulatory filings and reports.
• Design solutions balancing business needs and compliance requirements.
• Oversee compliance for STA and Simba (Jud).

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business management, or a related field.
• 6-8 years of experience in a compliance officer role.
• Strong knowledge of legal requirements, controls, and risk management.
• Experience in compliance management in financial services, preferably within Payment Institutions.
• Familiarity with Brazilian Central Bank regulations and global compliance for Payment Institutions.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Professional ethics and integrity.
• Compliance certification required.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese; Spanish is a plus.
• Desired qualifications include crypto industry experience, additional AML certification, and understanding blockchain technology.
