Data Scientist Senior Full Time

Responsibilities:

• Work with large and complex data sets to solve unstructured problems.
• Lead sourcing, ingesting, and cleaning of data sets for analysis.
• Build econometric, statistical, and machine learning models.
• Commit complex code into model repository and promote models to production.
• Develop champion/challenger models and implement self-healing models.
• Refine models based on performance, reliability, and feedback.
• Draft educational materials for data users on model refinement.
• Create model outputs for business discussions.
• Lead team members in creating consumable model outputs.
• Attend stakeholder meetings to discuss concerns and opportunities.
• Develop new research approaches with experienced data scientists.
• Review code for efficiency and accuracy.
• Adhere to company’s risk and regulatory standards.
• Promote a diverse environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain internal control standards and address audit points.
• Complete related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years related experience, or 9+ years combined higher education and work experience.
• Experience with statistics and data science principles.
• Proficiency in statistical software and languages.
• Experience with hybrid databases (on-premise and cloud).
• Intermediate knowledge of SQL and nSQL.
• Understanding of modeling techniques like Bayesian, Classification, Cluster analysis, Neural Networks, and Multivariate statistics.
• Experience with large data sets.
