DevOps Engineer Full Time

Summary:

Mama Money, a fintech startup since 2015, helps migrant workers in South Africa send money home affordably. Based in Cape Town with a team of 131 from 19 countries, it prioritizes customer well-being and community impact. The DevOps Engineer role enhances system stability and automation.

Responsibilities:

• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
• Automate highly scalable and resilient cloud operations that can be executed with no customer downtime.
• Testing and examining code written by others and analysing results.
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
• Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’.
• Provisioning administration and maintaining of the AWS cloud platform.
• Maintaining our core Mama Money platform and ensuring 99.9% uptime.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years’ experience with AWS Developer mindset.
• Experience with Kubernetes / Docker / EKS.
• Good understanding of networking topologies.
• Experience with monitoring services like Prometheus/Grafana.
• Scripting experience (Python / Bash / other).
• CI/CD exposure (Github Actions, GitLab).
