Responsibilities
- Drive development of legal strategies for global privacy and regulatory requirements
- Manage complex privacy negotiations with enterprise customers and advise Sales and Legal
- Lead company-wide projects on product and privacy with cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with Security team and handle legal aspects of security incident response
- Develop and maintain resources like playbooks, data maps, and incident response policies
- Communicate complex legal concepts clearly to the business and support cross-functional collaboration
- Support privacy program and lead privacy compliance initiatives with minimal guidance
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree
- Member in good standing of the state in which you reside
- 8+ years of privacy law experience (mix of in-house and law firm preferred)
- 10+ years of legal experience
- In-house experience at a technology company, especially SaaS
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating contracts, including data processing agreements
- Significant experience with global privacy laws and industry guidelines
- Experience advising product teams and working with technical and security teams
- Certified Information Privacy Professional certification preferred
- Ability to work through ambiguity and explain legal concepts to internal clients
