Responsibilities
- Lead engineering execution within the AV Infrastructure team
- Transition infrastructure from static scaling to auto-scaling based on demand
- Develop and implement the team’s roadmap to enhance reliability and efficiency
- Spearhead re-architecting infrastructure from bare metal to cloud
- Build and maintain reliable, efficient infrastructure to ensure Discord “just works”
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems serving millions of users
- Hands-on with technical complexity and understanding the entire stack
- Experience managing networked video infrastructure or real-time packet-based apps
- Experience with cloud environments (e.g., GCP, AWS)
- Ability to balance cost considerations against product quality
