Responsibilities:
- Furnish patients and healthcare providers with estimates related to upcoming treatment.
- Collect estimated liabilities from patients and apply payments to patient accounts.
- Acquire knowledge of patient’s insurance coverage and benefit limits and communicate it to patients.
- Communicate the financial status of the patient clearly to internal staff by analyzing and reviewing accounts receivables.
- Initiate prior authorization requests as per insurance carrier requirements.
- Ensure reimbursement is obtained for medical services provided for non-insured and under-insured patients.
- Identify and work to minimize potential financial risk by working daily time of service reports.
- Act as a resource representative when questions arise regarding registration errors, insurance documentation, and accounting correction.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- 2+ years of experience in fertility or healthcare.
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office required.
- Experience with electronic medical records.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts for patients.
- Flexible availability which may include working some weekends and holidays.
