Global Finance Application Manager Full Time

Summary:

Dentons, the world’s largest global law firm with over 12,000 people across 80+ countries, seeks a Global Finance Application Manager to enhance financial systems and drive innovation. The role involves leading a team to support critical finance processes and system improvements, fostering collaboration with stakeholders to meet business needs while promoting best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of functional, system analysts, and support engineers to deliver day-to-day support and systems improvements around month and year-end activities, accounts payable functions, billing functions, time recording, and general ledger functions.
• Maintain the practice management system and manage systems upgrades (Cloud).
• Provide support to newly deployed countries (post hyper-care), including ensuring processes are followed and knowledge is retained via recurring and new joiner training.
• Manage vendor and stakeholder relationships.
• Develop an understanding of how finance applications interact with Talent, global data services, matter workflow, and downstream tools.
• Monitor systems, ensuring month-end and year-end processes are adhered to in all supported countries and ensuring tasks are run.
• Investigate and resolve system issues.
• Extract data and design reports.
• Deal with complex system requests and queries.
• Review business processes and documentation.
• Manage user access and security controls.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience working with financial systems within an international law firm.
• Advanced knowledge of the Elite 3E system.
• Knowledge of data tools (Change stream and Tsql) and Power BI (highly beneficial).
• Good working knowledge of data warehousing, data quality management, and data security.
• Knowledge of system integrations, APIs, middleware, and ETL processes.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure environment and cloud-based services (highly beneficial).
• Knowledge of expense/invoice platforms (useful).
• Ability to manage and inspire team members, including those who are not direct reports, with a willingness to share knowledge and build team skills.
• Experience overseeing a multi-locational team.
• A strong operational accounting background.
• Expert stakeholder management, demonstrating the ability to work efficiently in demanding situations.
• Proficient project management experience with the ability to handle multiple work streams and prioritize accordingly.
• Ability to work within a structured project framework and manage projects from inception to delivery.
• Broad experience with finance applications and integrations.
• Self-motivated with a record of positive outcomes and a desire to affect change.
