Group Controller Full Time

Responsibilities

• Manage reporting of accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Ensure consistency of OpCo monthly closing process and financial reporting
• Review and analyze OpCo monthly financial results
• Consolidate OpCo monthly financial results into a holding company report
• Proactively seek opportunities to improve planning and reporting processes
• Record and monitor all parent company expenses including payroll
• Establish and own the standardized Chart of Accounts
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Identify and evaluate financial risks and opportunities, provide recommendations
• Implement capital expenditure review and approval process
• Ensure consistency in cash flow forecasting
• Support execution of company debt facility and covenant compliance reporting
• Support Finance Integration lead with integration for newly acquired businesses
• Build and foster strong cross-functional relationships
• Mentor finance professionals, provide training and development opportunities
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement in the finance team
• Lead the annual external audit process
• Assist with requests for financial information from Investment Company team
• Provide value-added analyses and insights to management team
• Model highest ethical standards and behaviors as a leader
• Help hire, develop, and retain skilled accounting staff

Requirements

• CPA or professional accounting equivalent license
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 3+ years in public accounting
• 6+ years in industry
• 2+ years Controller-level experience managing staff
• Proven experience managing a general ledger and month-end close process
• Experience with percentage of completion accounting
• Excellent understanding of US GAAP
• Strong ability to communicate financial information clearly
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, teamwork
