Summary:
- Mission Lane is seeking a Head of AI Governance and Model Risk Management to lead the strategy for AI governance and manage models within the Risk Management team.
- The role will focus on model risk management, validating, reviewing, and assessing model risk, as well as working within a regulated environment.
- Candidates must have a vision for AI and machine learning in fintech and contribute to both the day-to-day operations and long-term strategy of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Mission Lane’s Model Risk Management strategy and AI governance efforts.
- Oversee day-to-day operations managing models within the Risk Management team.
- Validate models, perform model reviews, and assess model risk.
- Collaborate with sponsor banks, legal teams, modelers, and business owners to build partnerships.
- Drive a responsible future for AI, machine learning, and data science in fintech.
- Apply risk management principles to create value, speed, and fairness in model development.
Requirements:
- Engineering mindset with experience in problem-solving, scalability, and efficiency.
- Coding experience, including reviewing code for data scientists’ PyData work or scripting tasks to automate them.
- Experience in regulated environments, particularly with SR 11-7 and the OCC’s Model Risk Management guidelines.
- Experience creating and applying statistical, econometric, or machine learning models.
- Strong collaboration and organizational skills.
- Vision for AI governance within the fintech industry.
- Knowledge of emerging trends in AI regulation and machine learning research.
