Head of Design Full Time

• As the Head of Design, you will be responsible for the branding and design of ApprovalMax as we aim to increase product growth and retention with our customers around the world.
• In this role, you will ensure the end-to-end creative process is smooth and efficient for all design jobs.
• You will have experience working on design projects yourself, as well as managing a small team of designers.
• You will be working on high-impact design projects, however, at the same time, you will oversee workflows and design processes, while delegating incoming jobs to other designers.
• You will inspect briefs and work closely with stakeholders from other business units to ensure all projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Responsibilities:

• Lead major projects and translate abstract business needs into clear, impactful design concepts.
• Establish efficient workflows between stakeholders and designers, improving collaboration and boosting output.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle creative challenges in product design, ensuring brand consistency across all platforms, including the app.
• Run weekly design reviews (WIPs), tracking decisions, tasks, and holding team members accountable for deliverables and deadlines.
• Ensure briefs are well-defined, results-oriented, and aligned with business priorities, allocating resources accordingly.
• Plan and delegate tasks across the creative team, balancing workloads and setting achievable deadlines.
• Coordinate with department heads to plan and deliver creative assets, anticipating needs for each quarter.
• Ensure all designs align with brand guidelines while identifying opportunities to streamline workflows through automation.
• Track project progress, addressing any deviations from timelines or budgets, and provide business cases for additional resources when necessary.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of talented, high-performing designers to consistently deliver top-quality work.

Requirements:

• Experience building and leading a team of designers.
• Understanding of and experience working within brand guidelines including visual and copy identity.
• Experience in proofreading and editing with very good attention to detail.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Highly organised, with a strong understanding of resource planning and project management, and also have an eye for good design.
• A strong communicator, able to compile and present clear reports and recommendations.
• Confident, proactive and flexible team player who can make quick informed decisions and function well under pressure.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and balance stakeholder needs while delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
