Head of Licensing Global Trade and Customs Full Time

Summary:

  • Metrea is a defense company focused on translating commercial innovation into solutions for national security problems.
  • The company delivers services across domains including Air, Space, Electromagnetic & Cyber, and Simulation.
  • Metrea Management provides central services to 12 global business units through various departments.
  • The Head of Licensing Global Trade and Customs (GTC) will lead Metrea’s licensing operations in the United States and support the international growth objectives of Metrea’s Business Groups.
  • This position ensures compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  • The role requires building relationships with government agencies and supporting business activities across various internal teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic vision and pragmatic implementation of Metrea’s GTC licensing pillar.
  • Coordinate strategies in support of U.S. Government and non-U.S. Government activities via export authorizations and exemptions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate information for export authorization submissions.
  • Ensure timely submission, approval, and activation of export requests.
  • Facilitate the compliant close-out of agreements, licenses, and exemptions.
  • Serve as an Empowered Official (EO).
  • Develop, implement, and streamline export licensing and authorization management processes.
  • Develop and implement export licensing training across the enterprise.
  • Identify and resolve export issues and risk areas.
  • Ensure compliance with global trade, export, import, and customs regulations.

Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of ITAR, EAR, and AECA regulations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
  • Sound judgment and attention to detail.
  • Team player mentality with the ability to execute strategically and operationally.
  • Ability to problem-solve and work under time-sensitive circumstances.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of independent decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of Global Trade experience OR 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include 8+ years of US export and import law experience, experience with DECCS and SNAP-R, and familiarity with UK and EU global trade laws.
  • Experience with US and UK sanctions regulations.
  • Advanced degree preferred.

Benefits:

  • Full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Up to 15% travel requirement.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance – Secret.
