Summary:
- The Insurance Verification Representative is responsible for obtaining and providing accurate and complete data input for insurance verifications in client systems.
- The role involves utilizing payer web portals to obtain patient insurance information and ensuring it is updated and accurate in the client system.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize payer web portals to obtain patients’ current insurance information and update it in the client system.
- Verify insurance information against patients’ insurance cards scanned in the client system to ensure it is the most up-to-date.
- Follow procedures to file claims once updates are made.
- Comment on all actions taken in internal and client host systems.
- Work independently from assigned work queues.
- Maintain daily productivity and quality standards set by departmental policies.
- Adhere to client/team policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with leadership.
- Maintain a professional attitude.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.
- Use, protect, and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with HIPAA standards.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Insurance Verification knowledge is preferred.
- Experience with practice management software: GE Centricity, EPIC PB, Cerner, Allscripts preferred.
- Knowledge of individual payer websites, including eviCore, Navinet, and Novitasphere.
- Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and task prioritization skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including basic Excel skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
