Responsibilities:
- Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to inpatient visits.
- Validate Present on Admission (POA) values.
- Review provider notes and CDI insights.
- Use CAC software to assign ICD codes.
- Validate and correct discharge dispositions.
- Sequence codes for reimbursement accuracy.
- Collaborate with CDI on discharge metrics.
- Educate CDI on coding guidelines.
- Write appeal letters for DRG downgrades.
- Resolve Nosology Messages/Alerts.
- Meet coding productivity standards.
Requirements:
- 3 years of inpatient coding experience.
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential.
- Active AHIMA membership.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and coding guidelines.
