Responsibilities:
- Leverage MongoDB, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Node to build Android applications.
- Build new features and improve existing features using modern best practices, such as version control, continuous integration, automated tests, and daily deploys.
- Collaborate with multicultural development, product, data, and impact teams globally.
- Design and implement scalable web services, applications, and APIs that work offline or with limited connectivity.
- Build software that can be used by people facing unique challenges, such as remote locations and low literacy levels.
- Participate in the design and development of solutions that are used by school leaders, teachers, students, and parents.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in the IT/Engineering sector.
- Experience in Java/Kotlin and NodeJS.
- Experience with MongoDB.
- Experience handling large databases on Android apps.
- Experience building fast APIs and writing efficient MongoDB queries.
- Experience with JIRA, Scrum.
- Experience with TDD, MVVM, and MVP architecture.
- Knowledge of mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
- Effective communication, relationship-building, and teamwork skills.
- Initiative, problem-solving ability, and comfort working with senior leadership.
- Passion for improving the quality of education in Africa.
