Lead Product Designer Full Time

Summary:

• Supercritical is the gateway to the carbon removal market, helping corporate buyers navigate the market and build portfolios of high-quality vetted projects.
• The company aims to scale carbon removal to gigatonnes by 2050 to stay below 1.5 degrees of warming.
• Supercritical recently raised a $13m Series A, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.
• The design team at Supercritical is growing, and this role will be the second full-time design hire.
• The company is looking for a Lead Product Designer to contribute to shaping the design culture and strategy at Supercritical.

Responsibilities:

• Design products from start to finish, including software platform for enterprise CDR buyers.
• Design the main marketing website and microsites.
• As the second designer, help define the product design process.
• Shape how the world thinks about carbon removal by defining its communication in the design.
• Make design tradeoffs considering user experience, business priorities, and engineering effort.
• Work cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Climate and Supply teams.
• Use tools such as wireframing, creating interactive prototypes, and conducting user research to tackle design challenges.
• Share work early and often with the team and present to the wider company.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in using Figma.
• Experience shipping products and understanding the impact of design decisions.
• Ability to work independently, be proactive, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with a focus on clear, easy-to-understand design.
• Willingness to make design tradeoffs and be scrappy when necessary.
• Motivation to contribute to climate change solutions.
