Market Systems Advisor, Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Full Time

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality technical assistance to diverse teams.
• Support staff in integrating market systems development.
• Facilitate evidence-based learning, reflection, and decision-making.
• Identify strengths and weaknesses in existing practices.
• Ensure results measurement systems capture relevant economic results.
• Create market systems development tools and resources.
• Undertake project management responsibilities on smaller initiatives.
• Ensure integration of best practices into new program designs.
• Review and develop content for proposals reflecting WUSC’s experience.
• Recommend resources for high-quality economic opportunities programming.
• Support project teams in recruitment and capacity building.
• Participate in critical working groups and networks.
• Support work in social finance and impact investment.
• Facilitate organizational learning through seminars and webinars.
• Represent WUSC at public forums to share lessons learned.
• Participate in communications work for fundraising activities.

Requirements:

• MA/MSc/MBA or equivalent in business, economics, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5-7 years in economic development, with international experience.
• Knowledge of Market Systems Development (MSD) approaches.
• Experience with stakeholders including governments and private sectors.
• Expertise in skills for employment/TVET and/or social finance.
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Commitment to gender equality and social inclusion.
• Ability to build consensus with various stakeholders.
• Flexibility with competing demands and ability to prioritize.
• Effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Ability to engage local stakeholders in policy design.
