Mechatronics Engineer Part Time

Summary:

The Mechatronics Engineer role involves designing innovative electro-mechanical systems to advance healthcare solutions, supported by institutions like Microsoft Ventures and Oxford University.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and improve innovative electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices.
• Develop test plans and protocols and execute prototype testing and design verification testing.
• Create automated systems and control software.
• Conduct research, document findings, and present reports at meetings.
• Develop design documents, schematics and component specifications for mechanical parts and final products using 3D Modelling software through the document control process.
• Perform detailed system tolerance analyses to achieve desired product performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
• Participate in risk management activities (e.g. DFMEA) and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Attend workshops, training sessions, and conferences to network with others and stay on top of field advancements.
• Effectively interface with suppliers to source and fabricate components.
• Perform other duties as assigned as necessary.

Requirements:

• BSc or higher in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or similar.
• Highly proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCad and similar 3D Modelling software.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and creative thinking skills.
• Strong technical drawing skills.
• Experience in embedded system design/programming (bonus).
• Experience with medical devices or highly regulated environments (bonus).
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 (bonus).
• Startup experience (bonus).
• Must be able to communicate effectively and keep detailed documentation.
• Ability to work in a team or alone.
• Self-starter with a passion for engineering.
