Operations Manager, Data Management Part Time

Summary:

Parexel is a global leader in the development of therapies through clinical trials, regulatory consulting, and market access. The company is recruiting for an Operations Manager, Data Management in South Africa to oversee the performance of their data management teams, manage client relationships, and ensure successful project delivery. The role involves leadership, resource management, and contributing to business development activities. This position is fully remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure team delivery of high-quality project deliverables by monitoring performance.

  • Train and mentor team according to job role expectations, acting as an SME for a functional process or account as applicable.

  • Meet with the full team on a regular basis with comprehensive communication and guidance.

  • Conduct individual 1:1s with all staff on a regular basis.

  • Promptly deliver positive and constructive feedback to team members.

  • Act as the point of contact for clients and within Parexel for account-specific matters requiring escalation to senior management.

  • Proactively identify potential issues/concerns related to DM on the account that may adversely affect strategic partnerships.

  • Establish effective working relationships with Biostatistics Account Leads.

  • Oversee and review resource requirements across the portfolio of studies/projects within a client.

  • Collaborate with Project Management Office and Project Quality Lead to oversee/calculate KPI/Metrics for the account.

  • Facilitate “Lessons Learned” after project completion and determine improvement opportunities within the Account.

  • Ensure compliance with ICH Guidelines, Good Clinical Practices, and Regulatory Agency requirements.

  • Lead and/or contribute to bid pursuit activities and system/standards improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a science or industry-related discipline.

  • Experience in a leadership role, preferably with line management experience.

  • Strong understanding of cross-functional activities.

  • Proven record of leading project and program teams.

  • Knowledge of ICH-GCP Guidelines and local regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to lead teams in a virtual environment.

  • Experience with EDC platforms (Rave, Inform, DataLabs, etc.).

  • Strong commitment to Quality and attention to detail.
