Responsibilities:
- Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to visits.
- Review medical records for accurate diagnosis coding.
- Interpret health records using anatomy and medical knowledge.
- Send physician queries for documentation clarification.
- Follow Coding Clinic and CPT Assistant guidelines.
- Analyze system changes and test software modifications.
- Resolve NCCI Edits with hospital modifiers.
- Use 3M Encoder for coding accuracy.
- Provide rationale for coding selections when needed.
- Meet coding productivity (90%) and quality (95%) standards.
Requirements:
- Credentialed by AHIMA (RHIT, RHIA, or CCS).
- 3-4 years coding experience in healthcare.
- CE requirement: 20-30 credits every two years.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
