Responsibilities
- Perform billing and collection processes for outpatient pharmacy, DME, SNF, home health, or CCRCs
- Handle service pre-certification, insurance coverage review, and personal responsibility determination
- Communicate with patients and internal customers to resolve billing and payment issues
- Submit claims, review denials, rebill, appeal, and manage accounts receivable
- Apply and communicate Mayo Clinic policies to ensure optimal reimbursement
Requirements
- Associate Degree in finance, business, or healthcare and 1 year of relevant experience
- OR High School diploma/GED with 3 years of experience in billing and collection
- OR Certified pharmacy tech with 2 years of experience
- Strong human relations, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Experience with Windows-based software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Internet
- Keyboarding experience required; claims management software experience desired
