Principal Backend Programmer – Shared Technology (On-site/Remote within the UK) Full Time

Responsibilities:

• Architect, implement, and maintain backend services.
• Develop and integrate online technologies for VR.
• Build and integrate scalable APIs connecting players.
• Plan and estimate effectively for technical staff.
• Triage, delegate, and manage programming priorities.
• Review designs and specifications, catch issues.
• Collaborate with technical leads across studios.
• Communicate backend architecture to technical teams.

Requirements:

• Write robust, maintainable, scalable code in C#.
• Experience with dotnet core, asp.net core for APIs.
• Proficient deploying backend services on AWS.
• Knowledge of live-service infrastructure for games.
• Familiarity with online services and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to optimize backend systems for performance.
• Good knowledge of logging, tracing, and metrics.
• Strong communication skills with non-technical staff.
• Empathetic and collaborative with multi-discipline teams.
• Experience with Perforce Helixcore and Git (nice to have).
• Experience with Kubernetes and containers (nice to have).
• Experience with event streaming and message brokers.
