Principal Software Engineer – Data Platform Full Time

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of our Data Platform
• Design and optimize real-time analytics solutions with Apache Druid
• Implement data lake strategies using Apache Iceberg
• Improve large-scale data processing pipelines with Apache Spark
• Drive evolution of data architecture for scalability and reliability
• Mentor and guide engineers, promoting continuous improvement
• Collaborate with teams to drive data-driven business outcomes
• Set high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation
• Build and maintain partnerships aligning technical solutions with objectives

Requirements

• 10+ years developing complex software applications
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and data processing
• Experience with Apache Spark, bonus for Druid or Iceberg
• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin
• Experience with cloud resource management and cost-performance tradeoffs
• Passion for data quality, governance, and security
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts
