Programador PLC Contract

Summary:

ALTEN MÉXICO, a subsidiary of the global ALTEN Group, seeks a qualified PLC Programmer for a remote industrial automation project. The role involves diagnosing PLC and HMI issues, implementing software updates, and supporting system improvements. ALTEN MÉXICO, present in 30 countries, delivers high-quality engineering services across various sectors, leveraging expertise to drive client success.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and resolve issues in PLC and HMI systems across multiple production lines.
• Implement software updates and modifications based on operational needs.
• Develop and test PLC programs to support automation improvements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and project managers to ensure system functionality and process efficiency.
• Document changes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps clearly for future reference.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety protocols and technical standards.
• Assist in remote monitoring of automation systems to detect and prevent issues.
• Coordinate interventions with the area manager or project engineer to avoid disruptions during active production.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and automation software backups.
• Participate in safety instructions and comply with all site-specific requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Certificates or training in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell).
• Training in HMI/SCADA systems (valued).
• Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams.
• Familiarity with automation software tools for code development, backups, and deployment.
• 2+ years of experience in industrial automation or a similar field.
• Prior experience in remote or on-site support for production environments (preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Proactive and detail-oriented approach.
• Teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required.
