Quality Specialist Full Time

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze HEDIS and STARs performance metrics
• Perform chart abstraction to identify care gaps like missing screenings
• Retrieve and collect medical records from external sources
• Maintain knowledge of HEDIS/STARs standards and provide staff training
• Coordinate with clinical staff on missing screenings and care gaps
• Close quality gaps using payer portals
• Upload records to patient charts using automated systems
• Conduct patient outreach for screenings and follow-up appointments
• Track inpatient and emergency room discharges for medical records
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Two or more years of experience in HEDIS/STARs quality metrics
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and value-based care models
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of healthcare quality improvement regulations and standards
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in data management tools like Excel
• Self-motivated, capable of working independently
