Regional Accountant (Egypt) Full Time

Summary:

Amideast is a leading American non-profit organization established in 1951, focused on international education and development in the MENA region. The Regional Accountant will support field offices across 11 countries, handling accounting functions and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Support all Amideast field offices in accounting aspects across MENA.

  • Provide guidance on Amideast policies and procedures to field offices.

  • Analyze general ledger accounts including cash, AR, AP, prepaids, and inventory.

  • Review monthly labor and bank reconciliations, recommending corrections.

  • Handle external audit requests during fiscal year-end audit.

  • Oversee monthly book/test inventory entries and physical counts.

  • Manage monthly exchange rate updates and severance worksheets.

  • Handle monthly closing entries and employee setup in Costpoint.

  • Manage vendor and customer setup/maintenance in the database.

  • Support field office accountants with Costpoint system issues.

  • Assist with annual audits, tax reviews, and new staff orientation.

  • Automate processes to enhance accuracy and minimize manual efforts.

  • Develop and maintain process documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.

  • 4 years of general accounting experience.

  • Strong understanding of financial reports and accounting principles.

  • Advanced MS Excel skills and demonstrated analytical abilities.

  • Fluency in English (TOEIC score of 700 required).

  • Ability to work in a team environment with proven integrity.

  • Must pass financial exam and maintain professional relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of Deltek Costpoint experience.

  • CMA or similar certification.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

  • Extensive Excel experience.
