Research Assistant (EU Agriculture Focus) Full Time

Summary:

Somewhere, a staffing and recruiting firm focused on global hiring solutions, is seeking a Research Assistant for a remote, full-time role in South Africa. The position supports a growing EU agriculture-focused newsletter, working closely with an experienced director to research and produce content on European agricultural policies and innovations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on EU agricultural policies, particularly the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), in relation to different EU countries, agri-tech, market updates, and interesting news articles from various European countries.
• Draft and edit written content in clear, concise, and well-structured English.
• Format and design newsletters in PDF format, combining visuals and text for clarity.
• Stay updated on relevant developments in Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, broader EU regions, and the United Kingdom.
• Develop fluency with the Director’s style, tone, and vision for the newsletter.
• Work toward full responsibility for the newsletter over 3–6 months, including publishing support alongside the Director.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and new AI tools relevant to the position to assist with scaling the publication, research, and addressing language differences and cultural nuances in the EU.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong research and writing skills, ideally with journalistic curiosity.
• Proficiency with Apple products and basic design tools (e.g., PDF formatting).
• Self-driven and organized, able to work independently while maintaining alignment.
• Interest in agriculture and European policy (experience with CAP is a significant advantage).
• Ability to speak and write in French or German (preferred).
• Familiarity with social media posting or distribution platforms (preferred).
