Risk Specialist, Protective Intelligence Full Time

Summary:

The Risk Specialist, Protective Intelligence at Coinbase supports the Security Org by analyzing risks and producing intelligence. Coinbase, a crypto leader, drives economic freedom through its onchain platform, offering a high-intensity, remote work environment in India for innovative problem-solvers.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and analyze open-source information to produce intelligence for risk models at strategic, operational, and tactical levels.
• Assess environmental hazards, terrorism, crime, and instability for specific countries, regions, or cities.
• Provide inputs for reports on geopolitical developments relevant to Coinbase.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments on high-value targets.
• Evaluate the probability of scenarios and their business impacts using structured techniques.
• Recommend and track controls to mitigate identified risks, including virtual and onsite evaluations.
• Conduct preliminary research for threat investigations and reputational due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
• Use social media, open- and closed-source databases, and investigative tools for research.

Requirements:

• Well-organized team player able to learn and work with basic direction.
• Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive information.
• Effective interpersonal and time management skills.
• Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• B.A./B.S. degree or higher.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in global security, due diligence, investigations, research, journalism, or a related field.
• Professional fluency in English.
• Ability to distill relevance from information and articulate its importance for Coinbase.
• Critical thinking skills for identifying and filling information gaps.
