SAR Investigator, Square Full Time

Responsibilities

• Review escalations of unusual transactions, conduct investigations, and document incidents of potential financial crimes including money laundering, fraud, and high-risk activity.
• Write and review Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
• Monitor industry trends, evolving financial crime typologies, and regulatory changes to enhance Square’s Financial Crimes program.
• Maintain an understanding of Square products and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with Support, Risk, and other operations teams as needed.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in AML/CFT or fraud-related work, including 1+ year with high-risk typologies in the payments space.
• 3+ years of current SAR experience with accuracy and precision.
• Experience with high-risk typologies such as terrorist financing, human trafficking, and scams.
• Experience analyzing financial data across various products or accounts.
• Strong investigative skills and familiarity with public record research and database tools.
• Knowledge of relevant BSA/AML laws and industry best practices.
• Ability to handle sensitive directives.
