Security Engineer Full Time NEW

Summary:

  • The Security Engineer at Bugcrowd will aid the security efforts while proactively making changes to improve the security posture.

Responsibilities:

  • Aid within the Incident Response process.
  • Perform threat hunting activities.
  • Develop patches and security controls within Ruby on Rails, Golang, and Kotlin applications.
  • Communicate technical knowledge across multiple teams for various audiences.
  • Handle AWS and network security controls with familiarity.
  • Identify vulnerability root causes.
  • Perform basic risk assessments and triage security issues.
  • Educate developers on security best practices.
  • Architect solutions with developers to remediate security concerns.
  • Conduct basic red team assessments (e.g., phishing, vishing, spoofing).
  • Test new features within the platform and services.
  • Automate security tasks to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Mentor other team members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or commensurate experience.
  • 3 – 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • Experience writing IR plans and responding to incidents.
  • Knowledge of Threat Intelligence and creating security controls.
  • Familiarity with Pentesting techniques and OWASP Top 10.
  • Ability to understand and patch vulnerabilities with developers.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, JavaScript, Ruby).
  • Self-motivated, organized, and punctual.
  • Cloud security experience or cloud certifications (AWS preferred).
  • Familiarity with IAM controls and Git.
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira).
