As a Senior Android Engineer, you will drive development on Reddit’s cross-platform design system and evolve the UI framework.

Push Reddit’s accessibility goals forward by introducing solutions based on WCAG and Android best practices.
Work with product, design, and engineering counterparts to drive development on Reddit’s cross-platform design system.
Evolve how Android engineers at Reddit build UI and drive adoption of Jetpack Compose.
Build the technical foundation for rapid experimentation while maintaining quality.
Serve as the go-to person for complex Android development problems.
Continuously learn and improve both technical and non-technical skills.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on, post-grad technical expertise.
5+ years of professional software development experience, developing user-facing Android mobile native applications at scale, using Java or Kotlin.
Strategic thinker, skilled at developing long-term technical foundations, with a passion for scalable, well-designed software.
Proven experience leading large projects that require cross-team and cross-functional collaborations.
Experience with modern Android development frameworks such as Jetpack Compose and Kotlin coroutines.
Entrepreneurial spirit, innovative, self-directed, and action-biased in fast-paced environments.
Experience working with cross-functional teams (design, product, data) to deliver great user experiences.
