Summary:

• PlayStation, a global leader in entertainment, is seeking a Senior Animator – Traversal Gameplay.
• The role involves creating high-quality traversal animations, collaborating with designers and programmers, and ensuring technical standards are met.
• The position is contract-based and requires expertise in Maya and proprietary engine tools.
• The candidate will guide and assist other animators to improve workflows and pipelines.

Responsibilities:

• Develop high-quality traversal animations for gameplay characters.
• Collaborate with designers and programmers to integrate animations in the game.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
• Work on hero traversal, combat, boss, mission, and open-world animations.
• Ensure cohesive execution of animation direction across the game.
• Communicate effectively with different teams including designers, programmers, and project managers.
• Write and maintain JIRA tasks and collaborate on backlog prioritization.
• Support independent and embedded Co-Dev resources, organize work, and review deliverables.
• Mentor junior animators and provide technical guidance.
• Explore and implement new animation techniques for improved efficiency and quality.

Requirements:

• Expertise in Maya and proprietary engine tools.
• Strong understanding of animation principles and character movement.
• Experience with real-time animation and game engines.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve animation-related technical issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with JIRA and project backlog management.
• Ability to mentor and support junior animators.
• Knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies in animation.
