Senior Backend Engineer Full Time

• As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will work in the AI Pod to build and improve the architecture supporting Superhuman’s AI features.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and scale backend systems that serve millions of users.
• Power amazing user experiences by building new features and improving existing ones.
• Evaluate and refine solutions to deliver a highly performant and exceptionally reliable backend system.
• Become an expert in backend development and expand your development across the stack and to various platforms.
• Collaborate across teams to define how systems should evolve.
• Support code quality, new technologies, and architectural design within the company.
• Uphold and advance the security and reliability of Superhuman’s systems.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of software development experience, with 4+ years focused on backend development.
• Expertise in Go, Typescript, or Python.
• Deep expertise in architecting for performance and scale.
• Produce striking, attention-worthy work and contribute to the state of the art.
• Effective asynchronous communicator across various mediums (Slack, Notion, email).
• Ownership mentality for own outcomes and the company’s success.
• Bias to action with rapid and decisive steps forward.
• Growth mindset, embracing challenges and feedback.
• Location open to candidates in North or South America, with a preference for those in Canada or Latin America.
