Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain core backend services, including new and existing microservices.
  • Ensure high code quality, producing readable, testable, and refactorable code while actively contributing to development standards.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, ensuring service uptime, availability, and root cause analysis for incidents.
  • Mentor junior engineers and nurture their technical skills.
  • Communicate the technical details of upcoming projects through the architectural review process.
  • Collaborate with other backend teams to guide the development of shared libraries.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in developing API services and shared packages using Golang.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Kubernetes).
  • Expertise in building scalable and high-performance backend architectures.
  • Production experience with relational and non-relational database technologies (e.g., MariaDB, RDS, DynamoDB, Redis).
  • Familiarity with asynchronous event processing platforms (e.g., Kafka, SQS).
  • Experience delivering microservices using gRPC or REST.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion.
