Senior Counsel, Data Privacy & Protection Full Time

Responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert on data privacy and protection laws
• Advise on compliance with U.S. and global data protection laws
• Collaborate with privacy and security colleagues on privacy programs
• Support strategic reviewing, drafting, and negotiating of privacy contracts
• Advise on data protection laws impacting business operations
• Provide legal counsel on investigations involving data breaches
• Develop best practices for incident response readiness
• Advise IT Security, Compliance, and other teams on privacy matters

Requirements

• JD degree and U.S. state bar membership required
• 8-12 years of experience as an attorney, including 5-10 years on privacy matters
• Understanding of privacy statutes like CPRA, GDPR, HIPAA
• Experience with privacy and security-related contracts and negotiations
• Experience with data loss prevention and cybersecurity events
• Experience managing privacy and/or cybersecurity incident response
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
