Summary:
- Fuel50 is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Java Engineer to join its New Zealand-based engineering team.
- Responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality full-stack software solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve product goals.
- Play a critical role in building scalable and reliable systems.
- Ensure technical excellence and mentor junior engineers.
- Strong experience in Java and front-end development, particularly with Angular.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to develop an enterprise product.
- Engage in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment.
- Handle AI-driven features, scaling, high availability, and monitoring.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, and CI/CD pipeline improvements.
- Reports to the Tech Team Lead.
- Offers flexible working hours with occasional calls outside standard business hours.
- Opportunity to work remotely within New Zealand.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain full-stack software solutions using Java and JavaScript frameworks.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to gather requirements and deliver features.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of applications.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Work on AI-driven features and complex engineering challenges.
- Implement and improve CI/CD processes.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
- Contribute to technical roadmap planning and execution.
- Support platform engineers in maintaining system reliability.
- Ensure high availability and observability of applications.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Strong understanding of SaaS architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Angular, MySQL, CI/CD, Docker, and Linux.
- Expertise in front-end development using Angular or a related JavaScript framework.
- Ability to design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable systems.
- Strong coding skills with best software development practices.
- Experience in technical roadmap planning and execution.
- Proven track record of resolving complex system issues and debugging.
- Passion for AI, automation, and improving engineering processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and results-driven approach.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers.
- Effective remote-working skills.
- Willingness to travel to the Takapuna office for planning and collaboration.
