Description:
- Developing a sales-call plan for named target accounts.
- Have sale call specific objectives.
- Conduct face-to-face and other communication protocol discussions with prospects at all levels in their organization.
- Following up on commitments and issues that arise during sales calls.
- Communicate customer and competitive developments that relate to assigned sales territory and the company.
- Manage CRM activities.
- Develop and close business with each customer assigned.
- Support CRM activities including updating of calendars, opportunity pipeline, customer profile information, contact information and other tasks.
- Lead business development effort.
- Organizing cross functional resources needed.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in local trade, professional and civic associations as a representative of the company; reviews professional publications’ establishes networks.
- Lead/Participate in the post sales implementation team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (logistics, transportation, business, or related focus), or an equivalent combination of education & experience. Graduate (MBA) preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of industry experience, and experience in professional selling capacity, with national account experience.
- Intimate knowledge of the US Intermodal network and service offerings.
- Proven customer service skills are required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships.
- Must be able to communicate and interact and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
- Working knowledge of PC-based applications and Electronic Information Systems.
- Exceptional negotiation skills, MS Office applications and general administrative functions.

- Candidates must be within 250 miles of an APL Logistics facility or office.
